Square Enix has dropped a bomb today as they unveiled the official ship date for Nier. The game will launch globally on the same day for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

According to the press release…

Nothing is as it seems in this latest action RPG game, set in a crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognisable creatures. Players assume the role of the unyielding protagonist, Nier, resolute in his quest to discover a cure for his daughter, infected with the Black Scrawl disease.

It’s a really odd looking game and difficult to explain in a simple news post, but take my word for it. Especially once the hermaphrodite makes an appearance, things really get weird. You can look for Nier to land on retail shelves across the globe on April 23rd.
