THQ has confirmed that it's putting an end to the Red Faction franchise in light of the latest game's poor sales performance, the publisher declared during a recent conference call. That means no more hammer-swinging and Martian mass destruction.
THQ Chief Executive, Brian Farrell told investors that "we do not intend to carry forward with that franchise in any meaningful way." Despite it receiving great critic reviews, it's sales seemed somewhat lacklustre which is quite suprising.
Red Faction developer Volition still has the Saints Row franchise however, and the Red Faction team has also now been reassigned to Guillermo del Toro's survival horror project inSANE, which is due to release in 2013. Personally, I'm excited for inSANE.
Farewell, Red faction. It was fun
