Default Microsoft Announces Bluetooth Headset and Media Remote for Xbox 360

Microsoft has unveiled two new peripherals for the Xbox 360 console: one is a Bluetooth Headset while the other is an updated Xbox 360 Media Remote.

The Bluetooth headset will be compatible with most PCs and mobile phones as well as the Xbox 360 console. The headset enables users to switch between a Xbox mode and a cell phone mode during use. The device will retail at $59.99 (£35) when released.

The Media Remote on the other hand will be a standard remote that can be used for DVDs, CDs, or streamed media. The remote will also include A, B, X, Y buttons and D-pad navigation to serve as navigation controls. If one has control of Live TV via their television service provider, the remote can control that as well. The market retail price for the device will be $19.99 (£15).

The remotes for the media functions on the Xbox (Sky - UK, Netflix - US, DVD's etc.).

The bluetooth headset could create some funny situations, if it is hooked up to your 360 and your phone. You could accidentally broadcast a private conversation on Xbox live or shout abuse at someone down the phone thinking your still connected to Xbox live

But it says in the opening post, "For most Phones", I just don't get why there would be a use for it. Seems pointless.

I can imagine that being a pain, but I'm sure M$ have thought ahead on that, surely :P

Yeah that's the bluetooth headset. I think it's so they can pull in all the people who need a mic for their phone PC and Xbox. It would be cheaper for them to buy the Xbox 360 one, than buying individual Xbox 360, PC and Mobile Phone headsets. It's a good idea, as I am swamped by different components for the Xbox / PC. It will be nice to have 1 set of components that will work on both.
