Based on the first book by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, the game tells the story of the citizens of a devastated Moscow, who have taken shelter in the city's underground network.

The game's story takes players through Moscow's underground networks and out on to the surface in a quest to save mankind as the story's main character Artyorn.
Metro 2033 will be released on PC and Xbox 360 on March 16th in North America and march 19th in Europe.
