Rockstar has released the first gameplay video for LA Noire today, showing protagonist Cole Phelps, walking the beat as a regular LAPD street cop before graduating to arson, traffic and homicide, where he'll find himself deep into some serious murder cases on the trail of a serial killer.

Examining evidence, engaging in dangerous gunplay, violent melee scuffles and reading people's faces will be just a part of LA Noire's gameplay, as you're given free reign to explore the game's massive detailed recreation of Los Angeles circa 1947.
