Default Xbox 360 to get ESPN streaming

Microsoft and all-powerful sports TV network ESPN have been in talks over a potential deal that would see content streamed live on Xbox 360.

In a further indication that Microsoft sees the future of its console graduating well beyond its gaming origins, the company has also spoken to Walt Disney regarding a subscription service through Xbox Live.

ESPN is a huge hub for top sporting action Stateside and although signs are that any deal would be US-centric initially, such a move could have implications for the UK with the British incarnation of the channel currently showing live Premiership football.

UK Xboxers (that's people who own an Xbox, not former Heavyweight Champion Frank Bruno and pals) can already access Sky Player on the console, allowing sport and movies to be streamed directly through their broadband connection.

Big waste of time I think...wouldnt it be better if they improved the online gaming side of it and the actual consoles

I personally don't use the video services on the Xbox nor have I even seen the point of it as I have a PC / DVD player for that. I personally think that sometimes they just sign contracts with companies just to prevent Sony and Nintendo doing it. Apparently they are also in talks with Disney.
