Thought 3D gaming was for PS3 owners only? Think again. News flying out of the tech wilds of Korea this morning suggests the Xbox 360 is going 3D, with LG and Microsoft tying up a deal which will see games for the Big M’s 360 games sold alongside the Far Eastern giant’s new 3D TVs.
In a statement released in South Korea, LG has said it will be marketing its new LX5900 3D TV as part of Xbox 360 3D game bundles. The dedicated games will not need special gaming hardware to get going, just a regular Xbox 360. That means Microsoft is going down the same road as Sony and offering 3D support for existing consoles.
Word is this bundle will hit shelves in Korea at the end of June, before going out and about around Asia. There’s no news as yet on when we’ll be seeing Xbox 360 3D titles here in the UK. However, with E3 set to kick off in a little over a month, you can guarantee Microsoft will talk up global plans then.
