Default Leaked Screenshots Reveal Upcoming XBLA Games?

Rumour time! According to a poster on the Digiex forum (nope, me neither), there's a number of great as-yet unannounced titles coming to the Xbox Live Arcade soon, namely games like Crazy Taxi, Quake Arena and Sonic Adventure.

Supposedly, these titles have been discovered via a debugged console, with the screenshots showing the games as bootable in the Game Library. To see these leaked screenshots for yourself, check the original forum post here: Unannounced XBLA games and screenshots leaked, including Crazy Taxi and Quake Arena. - Digiex

Okay, so this is still a total rumour, but there is a lot of legitimacy behind this and a reason to believe it beyond just the convincing screenshots. Though the screenshots alone are very believable, right? They're a very good photoshop job if not! But not only that, these rumoured games are slotted amongst previously confirmed games with impending release dates, such as After Burner Climax, Rocket Knight, Sonic 4 Episode 1, Zeno Clash and Hydrophobia. One top of those, the forum post also makes mention of Metal Slug XX, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum and King of Fighters 2002, which have all been confirmed as XBLA ports in the past too (though potentially Japanese exclusives).

Sonic Adventure has been strongly rumoured for quite a while now, with supposed screenshots floating around the web since January, leaked from a Dutch SEGA fansite (Sonic Adventure XBLA screenshots en achievements uitgelekt | SegaOnline...). And while SEGA have not confirmed this rumour at all, UK magazine 360 Gamer have in fact published a review of the game, which is pretty solid clarification of it's existence.

Quake Arena has similarly had leaks on the internet before, dating as far back as 2007! Originally seen as being rated on the ESRB website in April 2007 (Joystiq...), the port of Quake III was even confirmed by id Software as coming to XBLA at 2007's QuakeCon. While barely anything has been said about it since, those two facts alone are enough to believe that the game is coming to the Arcade in the not-too-distant future.

How about Crazy Taxi's legitimacy? Well, SEGA have already ported a number of Dreamcast titles to the Xbox Live Arcade - such as Ikaruga, SoulCalibur and Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram - and have pledged in the past to bring more to our platform. First, there was a leaked, confidential document from SEGA's press site that confirmed their plans to port more DC titles to the next-gen consoles (NeoGAF - View Single Post - Sega accidentally leaks minutes of meeting with SCEA - PS2 emulation & more discussed...). Not only that, but there has been rumours floating around for a long, long time now about these Dreamcast port plans, though the exact source for these rumours are questionable.

So while this is all still in the rumour stages, there is believability behind it, for sure.

One thing that jumped out at me is according to the above linked screenshots, Sonic Adventure will have 250G, which is definitely an intriguing prospect. More XBLA games should have more than the standard 200G in my opinion! And, if Crazy Taxi is coming, I'm really hoping that the original soundtrack is in tact. I can't imagine driving erratically and recklessly around the city without "Ten in 2010" blaring through the speakers.
