Epic Games showed off new features from the engine that powers the Gears of War games. Check out Edge’s website which has the exclusive scoop on Gears of War 3’s new underwater missions, Locust foes, and mech suits. The third Gears of War will introduce heavy-duty mech suits that the COGs can use for protection and for their own chaos. The suit will be present in both single-player and multiplayer modes.

Gears 3 will be set during the summer where new environments, such as an underwater location, will take form. A jungle-like could also make an appearance in Gears 3. Edge tells us that Gears 3 will feature underwater game play, new weapons that travel underground and revamped enemies. On Friday, Microsoft let slip that the next chapter in the Gears of War Series from Epic Games would be released in April 2011

I didn't see Baird or Cole. They also wern't wearing the cog armor which make me suspect the story is that the left the Gears but were attack by those new enemies so they thought screw this im killing em all!!! ANYA WERE TAKING THE STAIRS!

Why did they tell Anya?! It makes no difference what they take! Gah... gears.... Anyway Baird better be in it, I play as him online.

It's gonna be 4 player Co-op with Dom, Baird, Cole and Marcus and also there is also another playable squad that you play and eventually it'll all tie together near the end.

Let's just hope this one works, by epic's track record this'll be even glitchier and completely unplayable. But seriously, if the hit detection and lag (or lack of) was like Halo's i'd probably still play gears.
