On the Xbox 360 Dashboard, go to game library (with the game in the dvd tray obviously) and select the game from the list of games displayed, and then press A. It should then say something along the lines of "Install to Hard Drive".

It's brilliant as it means the disk tray no longer constantly sounds like a swarm of annoyed bees.

You have to leave the game in the tray while playing, but the 360 only uses it to verify you have the game. It no longer spins during games. They have made it this way to prevent people renting / borrowing games instead of buying them.

Its also improves the loading times of most games. On Battlefield: Bad Company 2 I could get half way to the enemies base before anyone else had loaded in the game because I installed it
