To me, it's been an slightly more-than-average gaming year. Yes, pretty much every month throughout the year saw a huge triple-A title roll out onto the shelves but some seemed to disappoint me (Star Wars: Force Unleashed II & Crackdown 2!). But alas, It twas a good year with the likes of Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, Red Dead Redemption, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and many more. Having a scan through this years Game of the Years from various sites, it seems that Mass Effect 2 won the most. Red Dead Redemption was my personal game of the year. I've loved every minute of it ('cept those darn ranching missions) and I still continue to play it.

What was your game of the year?

For me it is a tie between F1 2010 and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. Auto Log on Hot Pursuit makes the game a lot more enjoyable, as you're always trying to get back to the top of the leaderboard. Also Alan Wake was surprisingly excellent!

007 Bloodstone was a let down for three reasons 1) being told all the time how to execute a move 2) not being able to execute the move yourself (you press X and the move is executed for you) 3) the only gadget in the game is a mobile phone that lets you disable cctv cameras and see enemies.

I've yet to try out F1 2010 and NFS: Hot Pursuit. But F1 is currently £50! Yikes

Bloodstone was so boring, thank god I rented it!

I have to go with Halo: Reach. Its the only game that give a sense of achievement when you do well in a match. I can go 40-2 on Black Ops and it will be a "meh" sort of moment. When I went +5 on my K/D spread in a match on Reach I was actually pleased with my performance, it felt like I actually outplayed the other people rather than just getting lucky.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 would have been my GotY if I was asked 2 weeks ago, when Vietnam was first released. For some reason I just get bored even if I'm doing well on it now :/

GOTY would have to be Blazblue, well it tied with AC:B but seeing as how AC:B is so similar to AC2 i'm gonna have to give it to Blazblue.
