Hey guys and gals hows it going? I am in the process of purchasing of surround sound system fro the 360 but do not know where to start can anyone help or know of any systems that work well with it?

It really depends on how you connect your Xbox 360 to your TV. What video/audio cable do you use (original AV cable that comes with the Xbox 360, a component cable or a HDMI cable)? Once I know that, I can hopefully point you in the right direction :D

I'm using the HDMI cable. I have spoken to a couple of people and they have said about an optical solution.

Microsoft have released a HDMI cable that has the capability to be hooked up to a 5.1 Surround Sound system. As for 5.1 surround sound systems, it really depends on your budget. Will you be using it just for the Xbox? I used to have the Logitech X-540's (Logitech X-540 Multimedia Speaker System: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000LBHFMO?ie=UTF8&tag=xbo360for-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B000LBHFMO)) hooked up to my PC and they were brilliant BUT I wouldn't know how to set it up to your Xbox 360 (though there is a video on YouTube showing you how to do it, see below - you will need the product from Argos to use it though).
